MEHRINGER & ASSOCIATES, established in 1989, specializes in Employee Benefit Regulation Compliance, offering fee-based consulting services. The company also offers educational programs for companies and industry associations.

Marlene H. Bowen, LUTCF, RHU, REBC began her career in the insurance industry in 1987. Since 1998 her business has focused on Employee Benefit regulation, consulting on a fee basis. She currently specializes in COBRA and HIPAA compliance. Marlene develops and presents State-approved Continuing Education courses for NAIFA and NAHU associations throughout Indiana and Kentucky, including the Indiana State Association of Health Underwriters (ISAHU), IAHU (Indianapolis), Kentucky Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA-KY), Hoosier Hills Estate Planning Council (Bloomington, IN), NAIFA - Indianapolis, NAIFA - Richmond, NAIFA - Terre Haute, SC IN AIFA (New Albany), NWI AHU (Merrillville, IN), SWIAHU (Southwestern Indiana Association of Health Underwriters), WKYAHU (Owensboro, KY), SCKYAHU (Bowling Green), and the Independent Insurance Agents of Kentucky (Henderson, KY).

Marlene also presents company in-house training including COBRA, HIPAA, and other employee benefit topics.

 

Marlene received her BS in Business Administration (Marketing & Finance concentrations), with a minor in Economics from the University of Southern Indiana in 1998.  She earned her LUTCF (Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow) in 1992, her RHU designation (Registered Health Underwriter) in 2001, and completed her REBC designation (Registered Employee Benefits Consultant) May 2010.

Marlene has been a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), SW Indiana chapter, since 1989, was a Board member 1990 - 2006, NAIFA-Indiana Board Member 2008 - 2009, and NAIFA-Indiana Membership Committee 2003 - 2008.  Marlene has also been a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), SW Indiana chapter, was a Board member 2000 - 2008,  served on the Indiana State Board as Education Chair. 2007 - 2009, and currently serves on the NAHU Professional Development (Education) committee.

Marlene, and her husband John, reside in Evansville, Indiana.
